When you archive all past messages remain. On the LI native platform you can delete from Archive. This is useful when you want to get rid of the past communication trail from someone.

Spotted a reason to send them a message about something of relevance now?, press send and then notice you sent them a terrible message 3 years ago which will be resurfaced.
